Galerie Maximillian is delighted to exhibit new works by Alex Katz, a series of prints to accompany the artist’s retrospective now on view at the Guggenheim Museum. Find more information about the work and the artist below, and contact us for more information.
“It shows us talent, determination and individual sensibility being molded into great art and maintaining its momentum over time. This is what a retrospective should do, and Katz’s work does this with extraordinary clarity, almost transparency. It should give everyone, especially artists, hope.” – The New York Times
“Alex Katz: Gathering” is now on view at the Guggenheim. It spans eight decades and includes 154 artworks – 75 large canvases, accompanied by roughly 79 tiny collages, oil studies, prints, drawings and painted aluminum figurative cut-outs, and will be up through February 20, 2023.
Brisk Day Series, 1990, is one of Alex Katz’s most iconic prints. It is a suite of three portraits of Ada, using three different printmaking techniques – aquatint, silkscreen, and woodcut.
